Esmeralda came to stay with me over ten years ago. She isn't what she looks like and hates that w---- word (except at Halloween when she dresses up to look like one). Actually she's an old lady who never learned to read and write. Every year the boys and girls teach her, only she forgets everything over the summer and the next fall we have to start all over again. She also thinks she's real, so we pretend that she's not a (puppet) so as not to hurt her feelings. She and the other "little people" (puppets) are the teachers in the classroom. I just follow their directions!
